After a Tron movie marathon at Avengers Tower, Tony Stark decided to see if it’s actually possible to create a device that allows you to enter a computer.
As it turns out, it is.
Vocally political and liberal Steve Rogers
Fox News has no idea how to handle it because he’s Captain America and he’s literally from the 40’s like how do that handle that
He refuses to go on half of the news shows because they lie
Mostly ends up on the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and the Young Turks
Starts charities that focus on kids and the poor
Donations to veterans charities go through the roof
Treatment for PTSD in veterans suddenly gets addressed after he admits to being diagnosised with it
Steve Rogers starting a twitter specifically for linking people to horrible news stories and calling news stations out on their lies and scare tactics
Using his twitter to complain about the state of public news and how it should be a space of change and value and honesty for the American public, and how he’s so ashamed of it all
He accidentally becomes like public face for the new generation of politically savvy people
They make of shirts like WWCD “what would Cap do?”
Tony is thrilled and proud and hires of team of lawyers exclusively to handle the news stations screaming about Steve
Fox news gets slapped with so many libel fines and law suits
Going on a show and regretting it the moment an offensive question or comment comes up and decides he’s completely done and just tears the interviewer a new one. It goes viral.
The public face thing is just the start. It starts this whole new wave of people that shut down offensive shit during interviews and holding their own.
There is a short time period once he turns 35 where there is a rally cry of “Captain America for President” that he gracefully turns down.
But politicians starting courting him, trying to get him to publicly state that they support him because his influence is just so massive, and they keep getting shut down hard
Talks about growing up in the depression when people bring up financial issues - says things like “With all due respect, ma’am, what others may remember as being over 80 years ago was less then 5 ago to me. Things were supposed to get better. Those issues we thought we fixed were supposed to go away - we were supposed to work to a future where it was gone - and instead it seems to be worse then ever.”
And of course he’s a raging feminist and is absolutely appalled when Natasha tells him about rape statistics
Bruce takes a lot of time to fully educate him about the social and medical side of abortions, teaches him about the various birth defects and medical issues the mothers can face, shows him the demographic information of access and need, and Steve is horrified by that too
Then Tony walks him through gay rights and other LGBTQ issues, all of them helping him understand how sexuality can manifest differently and the difference between sex and gender identity
Steve just REAL FUCKIN DONE with everything.
Angrily stands in protest rallies and dares people to start something with peaceful protesters. Just DARES them.
Rolls his eyes at baby boomer articles about the newer generations. He’s heard that mess before. He’s done with it.
Understanding people have problems with medical bills, having been there himself.
Fucking standing up for single mothers becaUSE LIKE WHOA THAT’S HIS MOTHER YOU JUST DISSED.
Steve Rogers hating bullies. Hates that kids are actually KILLING THEMSELVES because of bullying and people are just “oh boys will be boys” about it and he’s just LIVID.
Steve getting a fan letter from a high schooler who is scarred to go to his prom with his boyfriend because of the severe bullying they have to go through and Steve showing up at the school on prom night with the boys and just daring anyone to say something about it
Steve getting pissed because they aren’t properly educating people about sex and just constantly saying things in interviews like “do you have any idea how amazing it is that you know these things?”
Steve being absolutely devastated when he finds out about climate change and going on the offensive with Tony in a clean energy campaign
OH MAN you know he and Bruce would TOTALLY be behind Tony’s clean energy campaign. He’d shame politicians when they would do something that would take us backward.
And sex education like “Did you know that I was actually taught that a man’s voice getting deeper was because his vocal cords were connected to his balls dropping? Like, that was a thing I was taught. And now we know more than ever, but these kids aren’t being taught, they are having to look up the information on their own, and it’s all completely wrong or scary or sexist or homophobic and it just needs to stop.”
And EDUCATION in general. Just calling for an education reform because the way the system was set up was meant for kids to enter the work force in the 50s, but the work force has changed and with it, the education system needs to change.
And he’d be ALL FOR ART AND MUSIC IN SCHOOLS he’d be ALL OVER THAT CAUSE.
Going to colleges and universities all over the country (and other countries) giving guest speeches about WW2 and propaganda and all his political views.
OH MAN he would be APPALLED by the vary idea of removing art from schools
"I went to art school. I actually worked in illustration for several years before I enlisted, and you know what? For a skinny kid from Brooklyn who didn’t always know where his next meal was coming from art was pure magic. It was an escape. It was the only thing I was good at for a long time other then running my mouth off and getting beat. As you can see, I still run my mouth, and I’ve gained a few talents since then, but art absolutely saved my life when I was kid."
People go on hunts looking for all of his old pre-war work.
Things go on sale on ebay for thousands of dollars. Tens of thousands.
He’s upset about it. Encourages people to sell his work and give money to charities instead of personal gain.
(Tony secretly matches all of the wins to Steve’s charities anyway.)
I just keep thinking about Steve and Fox News though because lbr that would be hilarious
He goes on Fox News LONG before he was so vocal and politically active. Back when shield was still making him do press. The first interview and they ask him a dumb, offensive question, probably about the “pitiful state of the modern military,” and all the other avengers just sit back like
"Damn I wish I had brought popcorn to watch this massacre that’s about to happen."
"The Avengers. It’s what we call ourselves, sort of like a team. "Earth’s Mightiest Heroes" type thing."

Cutest Thor Ever via Mary Sue.
This is adorable!
I AM GOING TO ACQUIRE THIS CHILD AND LOVE HER
THIS MIDGARDIAN CHILD HIS GOOD TASTE! METHINKS PERHAPS WE ARE SEEING A FUTURE FEMALE WARRIOR!
My head canon is that each of the Avengers ends up with core group of fangirl/boys, like Natasha’s (or the one she acknowledges) are teenage girls mainly who see her as their hero, little boys love the Hulk, but Thor? Little girls between like the ages of 4 and 10, cause dude he is a Prince, who rides on a rainbow bridge, and is basically the fairy tale prince in real life. And Thor fucking loves it. His room at the Tower is just plastered with drawings they send him, and he tries as hard as he can to respond to each and every letter he gets.
And Clint and Tony would try to tease Thor about it but he’s just so proud of all his little fangirls and of the drawings and other things they send him and he’s so earnest about it that Clint and Tony end up more than a little jealous.
I AM SO OKAY WITH THIS IDEA
and oh man I just picture him meeting one of his little baby fans and they have their own little baby mjolnir and he asks her if she’d like to hold the real one, and her eyes get all big because what?? only thor can hold mjolnir! she knows that!! So he crouches down next to her, gently holding her hand as it holds mjolnir so that even though he’s the one holding the weight, she gets to feel like she’s actually the one holding the hammer and her eyes go half as big as her whole head as grins all big and he tells her ”clearly you are worthy, little warrior!”
MY POOR HEART
Reblogging again because HOW FUCKING CUTE AND PERFECT IS THIS?
My broke is not the same as your broke
Avengers (2010) #10
can we just talk about Joss Whedon’s script for the avengers?
there is so much more i can’t even begin
SEE HERE IS THE THING THO let’s talk about movie scripts.
This technique is totally not unique to Joss. I’ve read a handful of scripts (most of them popular action films) and they’re ALL LIKE THIS. And it just blows my mind because
THIS IS THE FINISHED PRODUCT. Like, if I were writing a novel, this would be the final draft. And it’s just fucking bro talk! It does it’s job perfectly, of course—he wraps up that entire scene of confusion with a simple “What the fuck?” instead of “Cap and Tony look at each other in confusion.”
It’s such an interesting difference in mediums, precisely because the script might be the final draft for the writer but it’s not the final draft of the product. I had a really difficult time adjusting to that mindset on the script I started writing last spring. (It’s crap. It’ll get better.)
When I first started reading scripts I wasn’t sure about this attitude—after all, I was reading scripts for blockbusters. Maybe this is just how already successful Hollywood bros write to each other? Like they already know each other, they’ve already been given the job, so they can just be more casual? But seeing this kind of clicked a switch for me—it’s just the technique.
WRITING IS SO FASCINATING DON’T YOU THINK
Steve Rogers being adorable.

I think their Clint is my favourite ever.
Reputedly a scene was filmed where during the final battle Captain America saves an old man trying to protect his grandchildren. He tells him to ‘Get them to cover’ but as he walks away the old man asks him “Cap, is that really you?’. He turns and noting the man’s World War 2 veteran lapel pin trades salutes with him. As Captain America sprints away the children ask their grandfather ‘Do you know him?’ and he replies ‘We all know him’.
